Melody Mixer Remote

A low-latency Flutter remote for multi-zone hotel music, volume, and announcements, connected through RabbitMQ on AWS to on-site Windows audio software.

Melody Mixer Remote is an iOS and Android control application for hotel managers who need to operate music across several property areas without returning to the local audio workstation. It brings channel selection, playback, announcements, and volume control into one remote interface.

Collaborative product engineering

Panayiotis Hiripis shaped the initial mobile product and system design with the messaging integration. Renos Hiripis refined, polished and tested the connected experience. Development and solution decisions have remained a shared teamwork effort.

Remote control across hotel zones

Music channel control

Managers browse and change the music channels assigned to areas such as the lobby, main sitting room, or swimming pool.

Playback and volume

The mobile interface controls playback and sound levels without direct access to the on-site Windows machine.

Announcements

Operational announcements can be selected and played remotely through the same managed audio system.

Multi-zone operation

Controls are organized around the separate areas of a commercial hotel property.

Messaging architecture

Mobile actions are sent through a RabbitMQ messaging service hosted on AWS. The remote command is then delivered to a Windows machine inside the hotel, where the localized Melody Mixer software hosts the music tracks, channels, announcements, and the live playback engine. This provides a controlled bridge between the external mobile interface and the property-level audio system.

Development status: Melody Mixer Remote is still under development and has not been released to the app stores. The linked demonstration shows a working mobile build controlling the connected Windows audio application. Audio is part of the demonstration.
